UP2NEB – Interdisciplinary, youth-centred upskilling path leveraging on the New European Bauhaus toward peripheral communities – aims to engage, connect and empower youth workers from EU peripheral areas, equipping them with co-designed, practical learning resources and updated skills. They will then be able to train and empower young people (18-29) from those territories, to engage with the New European Bauhaus initiative, creating living space prototypes that benefit rural and peripheral communities’ development. The initiative aims thus to foster positive change in peripheral areas enhancing youth agency.
Activities:
- Development and piloting of a customized training program, formulated through extensive fieldwork involving youngsters,
youth workers and stakeholders. - Establishment of a training methodology founded on participatory and empowering techniques, such as problem-solving,
project work, design thinking, co-programming, and international learning mobilities. - Mentorship provided to support youth teams in their submissions within NEB prizes, fostering innovation and creativity.

Results:
- A youth-centred creative learning approach based on a dynamic training program covering topics connected to NEB
pillars; - A training methodology, in the form of a DIY toolkit;
- A practical pathway towards living spaces’ shaping and transformation, based on design-thinking;
- A compendium of projects and related prototypes on youth-driven spaces’ reshaping in rural and peripheral areas;
- Mentorship for follow up and materialization of NEB projects.
The role of STEP Institute
Coordinate the work for the desk and field research in the form of a participatory analysis; synthesize the main findings and organise one Pan-European Conference on Digital Education.
Prepare the final structure of the DIY toolkit, collaborate on contents developed and assemble all contents received by project partners.
