Two years of creative collaboration and empathy across Slovenia, Spain, Belgium and Ireland
As October draws to a close, so does the Empatheatry project – our two-year journey that brought together partners from Slovenia, Spain, Belgium and Ireland to explore how theatre can foster empathy, inclusion, and empowerment among young people with fewer opportunities.
In mid-October, project partners gathered in Dublin for the final transnational meeting, reflecting on shared learning, collaboration, and the creative processes that defined our work together. The following day, a public event in Ennis marked the celebration of the project’s results, stories, and impact, bringing the Empatheatry community together one last time.
All project outcomes remain available on our website, including the Empatheatry Handbook and the Policy Recommendations, which outline strategies for making theatre and the arts more accessible and empowering for young people with fewer opportunities. You can also find all project articles, videos, and media publications gathered under the Results section – a full archive of Empatheatry’s creative journey – as well as two newsletters available under the Blog section.
All resources are available in multiple languages, ensuring that the insights and methods developed through Empatheatry can continue to inspire practitioners, educators, and organisations across Europe.
As we officially close this chapter, we do so with appreciation for all partners, participants, and communities who contributed their creativity, dialogue, and empathy throughout the project. While Empatheatry comes to an end, its approach – using theatre as a space for connection, understanding, and inclusion – will continue to inspire future initiatives.
