The Superhero Lab project continues its journey of empowering young children to explore sustainability through scientific experiments. From October 14th to 18th, 2024, the project team gathered in Malmö, Sweden, for a productive Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA) with project partners and kindergarten teachers from Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and Greece.

During the training, participants visited Pilängsgården Kindergarten, where they experienced outdoor learning and observed how sustainability concepts are integrated into daily routines. This hands-on approach provided valuable insights into teaching sustainability to young children.

The World Café session allowed teachers to share how they had implemented lessons from our previous meeting in Leipzig. Through group discussions, participants reflected on what worked, what challenges arose, and exchanged ideas to improve their practices. This collaborative exchange highlighted the power of international learning.

Project partners also discussed the current progress of work packages, ensuring the project stays on track with reporting and dissemination efforts.

A key moment of the training was the development of 14 new experiments, designed to actively engage children in scientific inquiry while learning about sustainability topics such as water, energy, and biodiversity. Guided by the GoINNO Institute, participants worked in teams to prototype new lesson plans that will make sustainability education more dynamic and interactive.

Finally, participants explored the eTwinning platform, setting up accounts for the Superhero Lab project and presenting hands-on experiments developed by teachers.

This successful training has brought us closer to our goal of making sustainability education accessible and engaging for children aged 4-6 across Europe. Stay tuned for more exciting developments!
