As the Erasmus+ project Growing Green concludes, we want to take this opportunity to reflect on our recent progress and highlight the key results achieved.
The project aims to cultivate green entrepreneurial mindsets within vocational education and training (VET) by promoting circular economy principles and green capital concepts. The primary goal of Growing Green was to enhance awareness of the circular economy and develop green entrepreneurship competences in alignment with European strategies on these topics. By doing so, the project sought to reinforce green entrepreneurship skills as defined by the EntreComp framework among VET students.
One of the key outcomes of the project was the creation of an experiential, workplace-based teaching model. This model is designed to improve the quality of education and foster cooperation between VET institutions and local businesses across various sectors.
Project Outcomes
We are proud to present the following key outcomes of the Growing Green project:
- The Growing Green Entrepreneur: A comprehensive teacher’s manual offering a sustainable collection of materials, tools, activities, and a process roadmap for the experiential Growing Green approach.
- The Growing Green Framework: A set of tools and instruments designed to evaluate and assess key results from the pilot activities, facilitating the integration of the Growing Green approach into the educational offerings of VET schools.
- The Growing Green Compendium of Prototypes: A collection of projects and prototypes developed by VET students during the pilot activities, showcasing their innovation and application of green entrepreneurship principles.
- The Growing Green Gamification: A practical game that integrates training methodologies with green concepts, making learning both effective and engaging.
Final Project Meeting in Denmark
In June, we held our final project meeting in Billund, Denmark. The meeting was a significant milestone where we reviewed our project’s results and methods. We also had the opportunity to test some of these methods in the inspiring environment of the LEGO House. The following day, we prepared for the Pan-European conference, ensuring everything was in place for this event.
Pan-European Conference
We showcased the Growing Green project at the 51st session of the Pan-European Conference on Digital Education. This edition emphasized the development of green skills. During the presentations, we shared our experiences and the results of our initiatives. The insights gained from our project can be implemented across diverse educational settings, highlighting the critical need for sustainability education at every level. If you missed the conference, we invite you to watch the recording here.
We are excited about the impact of the Growing Green project and look forward to seeing its continued influence on VET education and the development of sustainable entrepreneurial skills. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project and supported our mission of fostering a greener future.
