Today, as part of the HIATUS project, we hosted an engaging event focused on introducing and exploring the principles of Service Design Thinking (SDT) within an educational context.
The primary goal of the HIATUS project is to develop a teaching methodology that leverages SDT skills for implementing products and services in schools, with a keen awareness of the current market demands. The project delivered three key results:
- A Service Design Thinking platform
- Training Programs for Implementing SDT in Schools
- An E-book on SDT Methodology and International Experimentation in Schools
The aim of today’s event was to present the project results to educators and simultaneously deepen their understanding of SDT. We started with an introduction to the project’s outcomes, emphasizing their relevance and application in education. We then walked participants through all phases of SDT, giving them the opportunity to apply these concepts in a practical challenge. Working in groups, attendees collaborated to develop innovative solutions, reflecting the human-centered approach central to SDT.
Service Design Thinking is highly relevant for both students and teachers, as it can significantly enhance the educational experience. By promoting a human-centered approach, SDT encourages student engagement, personalized learning, and collaborative problem-solving. Incorporating this methodology in education paves the way for a more meaningful and effective learning environment.
The event was a great success, and we look forward to seeing how these ideas will be applied in schools moving forward.
