On May 5th 2026 a Toy-Free Month national workshop was successfully organised in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
The workshop combined educational sessions, dissemination activities with practical training and peer learning for kindergarten educators interested in sustainable early childhood education. It brought together many kindergarten educators creating a valuable space for exchange, reflection, and the first steps in creation of a national community of educators committed to sustainability practices in kindergartens.
The event gathered 37 kindergarten educators and professionals working in early childhood education from 16 kindergartens from different parts of Slovenia. Their participation reflected strong interest in practical, child-centred, and sustainability-oriented approaches in kindergartens.
The main highlights of the event were the observation of practical activities implemented directly with children at Kindergarten dr. France Prešeren Ljubljana, presentations of TFM implementation in 5 kindergartens and practical workshops.
