We promote evidence-based teaching and skills development. Our approach to curriculum design encompasses the fact that the world changes every day. Therefore, in the new curriculum design projects, we put a lot of emphasis on facilitating learners to create new work rather than recall facts. Including interdisciplinary approaches, work-based learning and open experiential teaching which reflect a curriculum tailored to learners’ needs.
In the process of learner-centred or problem-centred curriculum design we follow design thinking steps:
- Collecting data: empathize with learners and teachers, researching learners’ needs, discovering challenges and pains, interviewing, job shadowing, meetings with key stakeholders;
- Defining key points: for improvements, redefining main objectives from the perspective of learners’ needs, opportunity areas for interdisciplinary teaching, work-based learning and new competences;
- Idea generation: creativity methods, sharing ideas, yes and thinking;
- Prototype: designing teaching methods, teaching guidelines, learning material, exercises;
- Test: pilot workshops with new methods and learning material.
