We are partnering in a new project called WE CARE!: Development of a training course for Caregivers of senior citizens 70+ at risk of Dementia
The project will offer a high quality learning tool for staff, trainers and volunteers, to enable them to support senior citizens in the field of digitization and in becoming more active members of their communities. Digital skills can greatly benefit seniors by providing social engagement, access to information and virtual experiences, cognitive stimulation, memory support, creative outlets and continued learning.
In July we attended the Kick-off of the project in the province of Bari, hosted by our Italian partner Sophia srls.
During the two-day meeting we had the opportunity to exchange ideas, provide input, discuss objectives, activities, and expected results. We agreed on the next steps for carrying out the needs analysis, the most suitable tools for data collection and we prepared the questionnaires.
We also visited the local elderly center, Centro Storelli, where we got a deeper insight into the topic, with an emphasis on supporting the elderly who are at higher risk of dementia.
We are collaborating with Casa do Professor and Sophia Coworking on the project.
