Project overview
Kids in Inclusive Schools (KIS) aims to strengthen inclusive education in primary schools by helping teachers and school leaders respond more effectively to pupils’ diverse learning needs.
The project brings together primary schools from five European countries to exchange experiences, explore innovative teaching methods and develop practical approaches to inclusion. It addresses academic, social and emotional aspects of education, promoting equal opportunities, empathy, cooperation and a school environment where every child can participate and thrive.
Activities
KIS will organise international training sessions, job-shadowing visits, online coaching and peer-learning activities across partner countries. Teachers and school leaders will explore different approaches to inclusion, including outdoor learning, social and emotional education, support for pupils with learning difficulties, team teaching and community involvement.
Through collaborative workshops and practical experimentation, partner schools will develop, implement and evaluate their own inclusive education plans. The project will share its experiences and results through an Inspiration Book, a European webinar and KIS Welcome Days for other schools.
Impact
KIS aims to improve teachers’ confidence and competences in inclusive education, strengthen cooperation between European schools and support the development of more inclusive teaching practices. The project will help schools establish shared visions and sustainable strategies for inclusion, contributing to pupils’ well-being, participation and learning opportunities, particularly for those with additional needs.
By sharing practical experiences and resources, KIS will also inspire other European primary schools to develop more inclusive learning environments.
We are partnering in the project with Erasmus+ courses by Primera and our venture Primera – Zentrum für pädagogische Fortbildung Wien.
