NewsThe Voice of Teachers: Key Insights for Bullying Prevention

June 18, 2026

As part of the Respect Connect project, 47 teachers and education professionals from Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Türkiye, Croatia and Latvia took part in national co-creation workshops, sharing their experiences, challenges and priorities around bullying and cyberbullying prevention.

Some key findings:

  • Bullying often starts with subtle forms of social exclusion that can be difficult to detect.
  • Early warning signs, hidden peer violence and complex group dynamics remain major challenges in schools.
  • Cyberbullying and online conflicts are increasingly affecting classroom relationships.
  • Communication with families is essential, but often one of the most sensitive aspects of intervention.
  • Schools need practical tools, ready-to-use activities and clear procedures to move from awareness to effective action.

These insights show that teachers are highly committed to creating safer and more inclusive school environments, but they also need practical resources and structured support.

The findings are now guiding the development of Respect Connect’s educational resources, ensuring they respond to real classroom needs identified by teachers across Europe.
