An international train-the-trainer workshop "Emotional intelligence for young professionals" has been has successfully carried out by STEP Institute in the scope of Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships for Youth Project "Emotion to Motion – Emotional Intelligence Skills Development to Foster Youth Employability". The training took place in the center of Ljubljana and was led by our in-house trainers Andrej Juričko and Ana Arzenšek.
The main goal of the training was to equip young professionals and professionals who work with young employees with the skills to improve their emotional intelligence. The emphasis of the training was on how to transfer newly learned skills into the workplace and everyday life. The participants from seven different countries gained knowledge about emotional awareness, coping with unpleasant emotions and stress, empathy and suitable response to emotions of other people, conflict management and developing assertiveness. They were acquiring new skills through different and interactive methods, such as role play and simulation, self-assessment, team work, discussion and other "learning by doing" exercises. They have received also valuable ideas and guidelines how to implement the trainings with young professionals in their own countries. Since such events are also a chance for a nonformal socializing and building new partnerships we have also organized an interesting walking tour around Ljubljana guided by a local tourist guide. We got to experience the beauty of Ljubljana even more from the boat trip along the river Ljubljanica and the culinary experience at the castle above the city. We would like to kindly thank our amazing group of participants who helped us make the training even better by sharing their knowledge, experiences and great ideas. It was a pleasure working with you and we hope to meet all again in the future.
