Between October 28th and November 1st STEP team traveled to Barcelona in the scope of Spread The ART of going UP project, financed under the KA2 Strategic Partnerships of the Erasmus + Program of the Europe. But not only our colleagues Blanka and Tine got the chance to discover entrepreneurship support environment in Barcelona. This time STEP could invite guests from local partner organisations. So Nives Sapač from Pomurje Technology Park and Boris Fartek from Youth Center Gornja Radgona joined STARTUP team (representatives of the partner organizations and representatives of local organisations and authorities from partner countries) in Spain. Team visited Barcelona Activa that promotes economic development of Barcelona and its metropolitan area since 1986. It is integrated in the Area of Employment, Enterprise and Tourism at Barcelona City Council and responsible for designing the strategies to promote the region at international level.
Participants of the STARTUP event also visited the municipality of Badalona and Badalona Business Center. This Center supports and gives assistance to local business companies in the field of international promotion. Last but not least, the team visited technological park TecnoCampus Mataró, created by cooperation of public and private entities (Regional Government, Mataró City Council, University Pompeu Fabra, private companies and R&D centers). Campus is active in many different areas: increasing the professional skills of employees, creating enterprises in emerging sectors of the economy and improving competitiveness of traditional business (through innovation and use of ICT), informing and encouraging citizens to take active part in entrepreneurial activities and stimulating social cohesion.
Blanka, Nives, Boris and Tine learned something new and spent great time in Barcelona and STEP team is looking forward to continuation of STARTUP project.
